How can I pay taxes owing?

There will be cases where not enough taxes were deducted from the pay cheques. At the time of the tax return, you notice that you owe taxes to the Canada Revenue Agency.

Your balance owing is due on or before April 30. After this date (from May 1 onwards), the CRA charges interest and penalties.

What are interest and penalties for filing a tax return too late?

The late-filing penalty is 5% of your balance owing, plus an additional 1% for each full month you file after the due date, to a maximum of 12 months.
