Only authorized service providers have access to the EFILE system, which allows them to submit tax returns electronically to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on behalf of taxpayers.
If you have previously filed a Canadian tax return, your calculation email will indicate whether you are eligible for electronic filing through EFILE.
Part of the online filing process includes Form T183
Form T183 – Information Return for Electronic Filing of an Individual’s Income Tax and Benefit Return authorizes a tax preparer to submit your tax return to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on your behalf.
Before your tax return can be submitted, you must sign this form T183. When you sign the form, you confirm that the information in your tax return is accurate and give permission for your preparer to file the return electronically on your behalf.
E-signature: You will receive an online request by email and sign the form electronically.
The signed form must be kept on file for at least six years in case the CRA asks to review it.
After Online Filing
After your tax return has been filed electronically, you will receive a client copy of your tax return for your records. This copy shows the information that was submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and should be kept for your personal files for six years.

- There is a $10 service fee per tax calculation, payable after you submit your request form.
- If you decide to proceed with filing a tax return, the $10 service fee will be applied to your invoice.
